~Pixar Animation Studios

The Pixar Animation Studios became an official subsidiary of the Disney company in 2006. The Pixar company was officially founded in 1986. To date, this CGI-animation world leader has earned 22 Academy Awards, produced 9 feature films and gave Art, computer-generated animation a whole new meaning. The Pixar features are created with the PhotoRealistic Renderman, the company's own implementation of the industry-standard Renderman image-rendering Application Programming Interface used to generate high-quality images.

With the release of its first feature Toy Story in 1995, Pixar became universally popular and enjoyed high levels of affection and approval from both critics and moviegoers. With critical acclaim and commercial success in its solid foundation, Pixar followed with further masterpieces in the forms of A Bug's Life (1998), Toy Story 2 (1999), Monsters, Inc. (2001) and last but not least, Finding Nemo in 2003 - the most commercially successful grossing over $800 million worldwide. Pixar became a household name, earning itself a firm position of fondness in children's hearts worldwide. This powerhouse continued to shoot out ubiquitously-adored productions in The Incredibles (2004), Cars (2006), Ratatouille (2007) and Wall-E (2008). Proving not only to the industry, but to the world that they adopt unfettered, ingenious artistry, innovative creativity and soaring versatility in their work.
